A BVN identifies you across Nigerian banks and can be linked to your bank accounts. NIBSS describes enrolment at your bank: complete an enrolment form, present acceptable identification and attend fingerprint and facial-image capture. Keep the acknowledgement slip issued after capture.
NIBSS directs customers to update their information in person at their bank branch. Contact your bank to confirm the evidence required for the change. Real J Black can help you prepare and understand the process; changes are handled through the appropriate banking channel.
Already enrolled? NIBSS provides the *565*0# service to retrieve your BVN using the phone number registered to your BVN. A service charge applies. If retrieval does not work, contact your bank rather than starting another enrolment.
NIBSS publishes diaspora enrolment locations and appointment guidance. Its listed requirements include a valid driver’s licence or international passport, a recent passport photograph and the applicable enrolment fee or payment evidence. Check the chosen centre’s instructions before booking.
